About us

Olivier ROMAN

Olivier specialises in tourism from his post-baccalaureate studies at university. He quickly decided to leave France to launch his international career. It is in the Czech Republic, a country he has known since his childhood, that he decides to launch his career. In 2006, with Nicolas Marty, he created DiZak Ketex.

After having structured and developed the leisure segment, he took over the MICE activity. This led him in 2013 to manage a 2-month event bringing together 10,000 people in Bratislava. In the same year, he successfully continued the internationalisation of DiZak Ketex by opening and managing a new office in Vienna.

During these years, he also participated in the development of the DizAk Ketex brands. In 2018, on the strength of his success in Austria, he returned to Prague and took over the management of the historic offices (Prague, Vienna, Budapest), taking an active part in the life of the DZK Group and investing in the management of the new offices, as in Greece.

In 2000 he did his military service as economic and cultural attaché at the French Embassy in Mongolia and on his return he joined the crisis unit of the Quai d’Orsay as editor of the website dedicated to the security of French nationals abroad.

In 2002, attracted by the field of operations and the adrenaline of organising special events abroad, he joined the tourism industry and led events for a MICE agency in more than 25 countries. After 5 years of service with major French companies, he founded the incoming agency STEP’IN, opened as a pioneer the first incoming agency in Mongolia specialising in the MICE market and created in 2008 the hotel brand Out Of Nowhere, an innovative concept that has won several awards.

In 2009, he joined Carré Destination as Associate Director and put his experience at the service of other foreign DMCs (Destination Management Companies) that he represents on the French market.

Since 2014, STEP’IN continues its development on the Silk Roads by operating in China (mainland + HKG) and more recently in Uzbekistan (Central Asia).
